Independent Cinemas, so good even the seats smile :-)

It makes me so happy going to see a movie in a fantastic cinema hall where even the seats look happy.

Going to the cinema should be more than just seeing the film. It should be a total experience and that is exactly what I got when Dexter, Anders and I went to see The Artist at a fantastic independent filmhouse. 

We are so lucky to have 3 independent cinemas in Edinburgh, The Filmhouse, The Dominion and The Cameo. We also have an International Film Festival held here every year which celebrates independent film making. I have always loved the silver screen, ever since I was a child, so going to a place like this, a perfect setting for a fantastic film like this, and for me it is just bliss.

I loved every single minute of this experience from before the big curtain went up, right up to when the film finished. My eyes felt like they had been exposed to a whole feast of great images, each one of them a still worth pouring over in itself for much longer than the split second it told it's part of the story. That is the feeling everyone should get coming out of a cinema, it is an event watching a movie on the big screen, and each frame should be a treat for the eyes, mind and soul. A place that captures that, is clearly a happy place :-)
