Three wishes....

 If you had 3 wishes, what would you wish for?

Every time I see these, I think of wishes, do you?

Three wishes, one for me, one for Anders and one for Dexter for us to make together, awwww, how sweet!  This above photograph was taken when my wee lovely first started to crawl at 8 months old and he started walking 2 months later!  Anders on the other hand, well he took a bit longer!!! (I know, my jokes are lame.)

I did, it made me laugh a dirty laugh and it was yummy!

So my happiness over the past day has been being able to get out of the house as I have been so unwell.  This is what I got to see with these short video clips that I took!

One thing about having flu (and it does make me happy) is that my voice gets even more deep and husky - the only time I like hearing it!

Then back home to watch Dexter get so excited at playing his main Christmas Present, Kinetic with the Sports game which he just loves and I have to say, it is extremely good.

So despite being unwell, I have been happy spending time with the people that I love very much and hope you are all having a wonderfully happy time too ;-)

Christmas spirit captured on the i-phone

I took this picture on the i-phone the other day of the Christmas Tree, and it appears to have come to life - is this a little Christmas Spirit!!!

This is the snowman Dexter made for me which was really sweet of him.

Even though he and I are both coughing and spluttering with some cold bug, we are both finding pieces of magic in this run up to Christmas.  Anders, he is too, and is even going to be one of Santa's messengers on Christmas Eve for a friend from Dexter's school's daughters birthday party.  Her daughter is in one of the younger classes so doesn't know Andrew or I from School, but either way, even if she did recognise him it would be ok as he is a designated "official Santa helper based in Edinburgh" who has been called in to make sure all will be fantastic!!!

  The kids are all going to write out last minute wishes to Santa and Andrew (who is going to be dressed up as an "official Santa helper based in Edinburgh") is going to arrive to collect them and make sure Santa gets them in time for Christmas Day, hope I get to capture this, but even if I don't I will get to see the letters!

I don't know what it was but it was lovely....

I had such a strange and surreal dream on Thursday night, but when I woke up I was completely in the Christmas spirit!  I can't remember anything about how I got to the end of the dream and what the build up of it was, but what I do remember was the image at the end as it lasted for what seemed like ages, whilst simultaneously in my mind thinking "what is going on"?

Your curious I can tell - ha, ha!  Well, the end of my dream was a scene which was very bright white, like fluffy and iridescent clouds backdrop to, yep you guessed it, a beautiful white lamb.  It was sitting down just like this one photographed above (except it was a bit more of a pop art style) which I saw in the entrance way of Dexter's school set amongst their nativity display!  It felt very lovely and calming and I really didn't want to wake up!

When I did surface, I was a bit confused thinking, where is the lamb and then I thought I have just had a dream with the lamb of God - wow!  It was really pretty and lovely, and clearly I had it because the evening before part of Dexter's homework had been for him to draw two things which related to Christmas and then to give the reason why they did.  Dexter chose the Christmas Pudding and Present (tree had already been given as an example which explained the homework).

Suppose there is nothing like a dream that makes you wake up all warm and happy and for me it got me right into the spirit of Christmas.  It was a bit like having had an audience with Clarence the angel from It's a Wonderful Life except I didn't hear any bells ringing to signify someone getting their wings!  I don't know what it was but it was a really lovely dream.

"Snowball, take yer photo wi me"

These photos make me laugh.  Weather here is really getting cold, Andrew even saw lots of snow as he drove down south yesterday and I saw the first frost covering too on all the cars, bushes and grass.  When it is like this, and there is steam about, it always makes for adding interest to a photo, I think.  It also makes me think of New York and the steam vents all over the streets.  So when I saw this street having hot tar put on it I thought, why not take a photo of it!

This chap came over to me after this photo was taken, put his arms round my shoulders and said "hey Snowball" (referring to me as snowball) "can I get ma photo taken wi you"?  I just laughed as he said this in his loudly spoken Scottish accent, what else could I do as I couldn't reach for my i-phone to call for the cops!

Was I happy I wasn't the one working out in the cold - yep I was.

You are right to be frightened, very frightened - because I think I am seeing this face in more than one place!  The photo below was on the rocks of Blackness Castle where the film Doomsday was filmed which we went to visit at the weekend before the photos above were taken - was there a ghost in the castle that is trying to speak to me - ahhhhhhhh!

Autumn Fall!

Now disregarded by the trees

on the ground they lay these jewel coloured leaves

Autumn leaves that once stood tall

On these steps might lead to someone just having a Fall!

Hope not as most likely it will be me falling flat on my bum, on the bright side, at least I would be surrounded by all the pretty leaves!

Ninja Stealth Black Swan appears for Halloween

Anders and I took Marvin & Carly for a walk yesterday when all of a sudden we said "what's that in the water?  Is it a Black Swan?!".  I ran over a bit closer and shouted "I think it is a Black Swan" to which Anders said "are you sure it isn't a young swan still with all its juvenile feathers?" - It could be, but given it is so near Halloween and I have never seen this before I would like to think of this as a Ninja Stealth Swan!

What a strange door I thought and why would someone write this?  Clearly it is a fake address so who lives behind it?  Halloween thoughts go through my head given the 31st is approaching fast!

Is it a tempting beauty luring you with a rosy red apple?

What else might there be behind the door to tempt you to enter?

But then again could she the bride of Dracula!

I know that sign doesn't tempt me to go and find out.  I somehow think someone who writes that on their door isn't getting their message across well!

Scary TV Shows of the 70's

I was just chatting over coffee with Anika (she is just so so lovely and I am so glad to have met her through this blog), and we got chatting about her Halloween Countdown, and scary photos generally.  I mentioned to her about Hammer Horror Films and then I remembered about the TV series that whenever I heard the theme tune my skin would grow goosebumps and I would lie in bed hoping that nothing scary would ever happen.  This conversation made me look to see if there were any clips on youtube, and there are so here is a teazer that would scare me when it was still a little kid.  Whilst it is slightly adapted for a non British audience, the music is exactly the same.  For some reason, my memory of the theme shots were of the camera panning in and out of shots like the images shown, except they were seen through mirrors that gave either a round edge effect or were fisheye!

Fried Egg Sky at Night and Pumpkin Rain Day!

Last night as I was tucking Dexter in bed he noticed that we had a beautiful evening sky.  The moon was out, the clouds were all fluffy and in uniformed pattern, but I couldn't capture it from my i-phone from inside the house and I wasn't convinced I was going to get it on my Olympus either (also it was too cold and I couldn't be bothered going out)!  I did however take a picture of it with the i-phone and although the picture was not anything like the sky I saw I thought I might pull some of the clouds out with some editing.  So with the editing, who would have thought that last night the sky was a digital fried egg sky, I thought the moon was meant to be made of cheese - not what I was expecting - did you see any interesting food items in the sky last night!!!!!

Today, the sky is grey/white, no breaks for blue and it is raining so again, when I woke up, it was hard to get a beautiful sky picture from the house, but as the pumpkin sitting outside did look pretty so took a shot of it with the sky as a backdrop and without!  

Just think, this time last week, we were in the beautiful blue skies of Barcelona and it was 19 - 20 degrees.  Today we are lucky if it is 11 degrees, with the wind factor, it feels far more like winter is dawning!

All about Orange.....

Gazing in the kitchen I saw my mini orange tree was abundant with oranges which made me think of Barcelona and how I still have not managed to find time to edit the Olympus Pen photos that I took on holiday!  I know there were some great orange ones in there like the one I took of Mr Puf with the terracotta chimneys ot the roof of the Gaudi Museum.



but standing in the kitchen also reminded me of the fact that I needed to get food in!

So round the supermarket I went looking for orange inspiration!

Big Pumpkins were everywhere so I bought another one to carve with Dexter

There were orange muffin moulds

Even a really scary clown costume for kids to wear!

Returning home, I carved a Pumpkin with Dexter

He designed the face

As Orange Carly

and orange Marvin looked on.
