I have literally just gotten back from Review Santa Fe, and all I can say is that after leaving what I feel was like sitting in an American Indian "sweat lodge" I am now technically unleashed from my own confines to emerge as an Artist! I was genuinely shocked at how positive the feedback was that I received and you cannot imagine how genuinely delighted I feel to have not been (metaphorically) tarred, feathered and left at the edge of town!
I went to this event stunned at having been awarded a place amongst such talented established artist (from all over the world) of which the ones I got to know I am so fortunate to now call friends. The critique that I received from the Reviewers was really useful and well ..... heartwarming, massively better than I expected. I went there assuming that I would receive some rejection, and some kind pointers, but not expecting really anyone to be actively positive to someone with literally no track record. However, what I received is something so unbelievably wonderful that I cannot find the words to describe, as you would expect if you had been in a "sweat lodge". I am just so glad that I overcame my initial reservations about going because I didn't feel I should be there.
I do not know where my journey will eventually take me, or how long it will take, but I do know that it will be an interesting one which along with my family, I will make with some wonderful new found friends who I have met in this very special place.
