Boogie Man Pirate Armour - how cool is that!

As I am often referring to my lovely Anders as being so "damn hunky" in addition to being funny, clever........etc, etc (it was a gift for Father's Day after all!!), well what more of a fitting gift could Dexter & I have given him then Warriors Armour made from leather!

The leather almost looks as though it is made from slate/mother of pearl, but it is definitely leather, and has shell buckles on it.

It originates from Indonesia and belonged to the Bugis people of Sulawesi. They were a sea faring nation who were actually very fearsome pirates so actually you could say it is Bugisman (pronounced "boogi man") Pirate Armour - how cool and scary is that!

The lovely Bill who has the Dreamy House I wrote about earlier this month, travelled a lot around Indonesia and Asia, and this piece he got a long time ago. He very kindly sold it to me so it could be given to Anders as a gift for Father's Day. Actually, the minute I saw it I knew it would be perfect for Andrew (and would work well in our house), and it just so happened that the first occasion to give a special gift to him for was actually Father's Day!!

Thank you lovely Bill for letting me buy it from you - I really appreciate it as it is just perfect.

Anders says it will be the perfect outfit for the Gorilla vs Shark rematch - oh, I hope there is one as I want to see him wearing it (pervy laugh from me!!!). The match you can see on:

A Father's Day Brunch Munch!

Well, the photos that I took at Urban Angel where we went for brunch on Father's Day, didn't make the food look as good as it tasted, so I didn't put them into the blog, with the exception of this yummy strawberry tart Anders and I shared at the end!

Andrew had a really tasty full breakfast which was poached eggs, sausages, bacon, toast, mushroom, tomatoes, baked beans, black pudding and haggis! By the time I had decided to photograph it, Anders had started demolishing it so although I took a photo, it looks a bit of a mess! It is needless to say a filling choice and therefore not what I had!

Dexter had porridge with honey, again, it was very yummy, but it doesn't photograph that well!

I had eggs Benedict with smoked haddock instead of bacon/smoked salmon. The smoked haddock was a little too salty for my taste so maybe wouldn't order that again, but that is the first time I have eaten something from there that I wouldn't necessarily order again.

Their pastries however are amazing - really yummy and I had saved a little space for this very tasty treat which was their version of a strawberry shortcake. The base was actually coconut sponge and it went down a treat with some Egyptian Mint Tea.

Despite this looking like some form of an insect's head......

Happy Father's Day

We have had the most fantastic of days today, the Park with the dogs first thing in the morning, followed by brunch in Urban Angel, followed by finding the second of the four Anthony Gormley statues along the Water of Leith; followed by the beach; followed by a mystery drive which ended up at our friends house that has the Dreamy House to give Anders his Father's Day gift! We have all been outdoors virtually the whole day together having a ball....

..... So having had a full day, only just downloading the photographs, and all will be revealed on the Blog later on, but for now, here is a wee taster of what is to come - one of the many Happy Father's Day messages that Anders received from our wonderful creation - Dexter!
