This day.....

was a day that I saw so many amazing images on my walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens yesterday, my brain was bursting with excitement at the things I captured that I just want to share with you.

I posted some of my shots yesterday, but I have more like these which I will be posting up this week.

Music brought to you by the very talented Emma's Imagination who until recently was busking in the streets of Glasgow.  This song sums up how it felt going on the walk through the botanics yesterday.

Featuring Typewriting tales......

Today, Dexter started to drink tea!

Yep, he and his pal decided that they wanted to be grown up and drink tea like adults do.  I remember being about his age and doing stuff that made me feel all grown up too - how sweet and lovely they both are.  As he and Ben drank their tea, (which Dexter asked for putting on his I'm going to ask a mature and grown up question face), they both exclaimed "this is delicious".  Yep, hot Lady Grey tea, with a splash of milk and a spot of sugar is indeed, ha, ha, ha.  Oh I love it!  So the two lovelies sat drinking their tea, out of special kids mugs one with a scull and cross bones on it with the words Piratical, and the other with Peace and Love and watching cartoons!

Think I might have found a way to use these photos more a typewriting tale spot, what do you think?

An Autumn walk in the Royal Botanical Gardens

Leaves that fall from the trees now become food for the earth and so grows the mushroom!

Today I went with Dexter, Anders, Ben, Zack and Eriko for a walk in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh, it was beautiful.  It had rained during the night and early morning, so the ground was still shiny and wet, the sky was still and a light shade of grey and the colours of the Botanics popped!

I had just been commenting to Eriko as we walked there that I just loved taking photographs and that doing this somehow made me see the world so differently.  Everyday things that might otherwise pass people by jumped out at me, and Eriko understood exactly what I meant and smiled.  I laughed and said, "you know the way I see things now you would think I had been taking some hallucinogenic substance - the world just popped full of beautiful colours".  I then continued by saying "this photography thing has taken a grip again and has turned back the clock almost as though I was a child seeing things for the first time in all its wonder".

As we strolled through the Botanics (which had a fantastic exhibition on dedicated to mushrooms), I thought of how I used to come here often as a teenager when I was last obsessed with taking photographs.  I used to spend so much time here feeding squirrels and just being in awe at the beauty of the place and as I remembered this I also thought funny how this side of me didn't dominate, it genuinely didn't, it was just something I appreciated and thought everyone did!

Anyway, back to the walk, it was a beautiful Autumn day, the perfect day to go there and experience this time of year at its best.  I also love finding mushrooms, and the adventure and excitement it causes with kids (although of course we only look and find them but don't pick as some are deadly).

Don't you just love the name Destroying Angel!
The trees had turned all different shades of amber, red, brown, acid yellow and green, jade and yet still there was dark shades of forest green.  In amongst this there were bright coloured purple, white and blue flowers and I just couldn't stop thinking about clothes designing and making up of colour palates.  I really was on a role, as again, when I was a teenager I used to design and make clothes - yep, I did, even sold some!.  Something my sister says I was really good at, but I never so didn't pursue it, like all the creative things in my life.  Here I was again, thinking back to the adolescent me and getting so excited by all the things I was seeing and capturing.

All these images I have seen that are bursting to come out.  So many ways that they can.  I hope that they won't just fall back into my past the way the teenage me did.  Not that I would want to be the teenager again, now I think I have another dimension, possibly more of a depth to take the things further, although I am not sure how - wow trippy!

So the prompt of nostalgia could have been many things, but I have recently done the more obvious ones  on Flashback Friday.  So today given the really lovely day I have experienced it has to be this.  As for all the amazing mushrooms and flowers, I will put them up in another post as they are truly worthy of being shown in their own amazing beauty and I will save myself for another brain trip - but here is one of them:-

What nostalgic trip will you think up?  Actually, I sort of covered this in my topic in my Sunday Scavenger Hunt too!!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

In China, during October they celebrate Golden Holidays, which is apparently a week long vacation where people enjoy some r and r!

Wonder what people do during this time, and what memories they create during that time.

surely everyone wants to have memories that bring them joy
Like reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when you were little for the first time....

or even more simple, right now, eating golden corn on the cob, with golden salted butter that dribbles down your face, mmmm

I know I have memories that include at least one of my perfect boys
So lets follow Dexter down the yellow brick road you never know what memories will unfold.

Golden hair, golden light, my hearts delight all shiny and bright.

Or maybe a sweet smelling rose for my other delight

yep my other golden haired boy whose aftershave smell is lingering,

oh when I think about it my senses are tingling, past, present and future!

Oh now just thinking about that smell makes me want something that is fruity!
can't you just smell that I'm feeling peachy......

....... Anders does have a nice bootie!

from so many angles!!!
Oh, behave I hear you saying, and yes I shall!

No need to bring in the police, or send me to jail

Will you let me out on bail?

I will keep my thoughts clean, read on and that will be seen!

I was just being a goon!
unless you want to bring in a sheriff at a local saloon
in the form of the Beatles song Rocky Racoon!
That would be just dandy!

I love, love, love that song, one of my favourites.  You know I really do love hearing it I can play it on repeat and sing at the top of my voice to it, especially in the car!  It is such a great song, I am now singing do, de doo (thankfully you can't hear though)!!!  Are singing it you too?  Shaking your peach to the music? ha, ha, ha I am!!!

Simple but true, a sign that says I love you

or maybe you prefer to say it with a simple yet very beautiful golden flower

What about sports, well I have already blogged about Dexter getting a gold 1st place for his kickboxing, although the cup was silver in colour!

Let's ask the golden haired lovely "Dexter what sport should I photograph"?

Yep, your right, no need to answer as it is right under your nose, football!
I can live with that and your golden smile on.....

..... or off the pitch lights up any cold autumn day.
maybe not the washing of the smelly, sweaty and dirty sports clothes - pooie..... (lucky for me it wasn't my turn to do the whole team, that day however I know is coming!),
yep, Dexter I am sure you think that is funny!

I still love you, and here is a golden biscuit which smells divine having been freshly baked.  It has a fruity cherry on the top, is simple and sweet and will go down well with a glass of milk after a good workout on the pitch!
