When warm becomes cold

 Only those who have left this world know what truly awaits

My stepfather's falling apart body is now reaching this final fate

For he is on the final stages of his life's decline

I know the ending of the pain will be for him divine

When his warmth finally becomes icy cold 

except in my heart,  

where his kind deeds shown to me will remain, 

and so, even now,  melt away any pain :-)
