Scavenger Hunt even managed to get the UK Prime Minister for you!

I travelled to London by train, normally fly, but think I might start using the train more as you see so many beautiful things through the windows.  I really love this picture I managed to snap.  So, it is Scavenger Hunt prompts Sunday, and this weeks prompts are Faceless Portrait, Windows/Doors, Eyelashes, Paint, Leaf Veins and Faceless Portrait. This week I have managed to get some surprising results as you will soon find out! So lets start with Faceless Portraits, can you guess who this is?
I take a huge amount of photographs and in snapping away this weekend in my own wee world, I snapped my way right up to the back of our very own Prime Minister, David Cameron's head too!
If you want to read all about this encounter between me and The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, then just click here
Next on the Scavenger List is eyelashes....
..... Doors/Windows, well I did show you some in my first image, (see the ice cream van window is behind them!).....
not convinced? well what about another view from the train window?
Now for paint, this old nuclear bunker (built but never used) is completely abandoned and covered in graffiti paint.....
even when you look through the windows/doorways, there is paint, and more of this place I will post another time as we are planning on going inside it sometime very soon - it goes down 4 stories underground!
and lastly, leaf veins.  I have done 2 types, first one below....
..... and this second picture shows very fine in the left almost like a spiders web

Ginger Graeme?

This week's Scavenger Hunt prompts are:  Emotion, From a flower's point of view, natural frame, letters and bliss. So lets start with letters, which indeed make up words, and words can be confusing, and definitely stimulate conversation....
The next prompt was "from a flower's point of view". Well, I actually did a whole series dedicated to a flower's point of view in May. The above photo was one of the pictures I took because this tulip inspired me to do just that. As a result I really didn't want to do it again because I had not seen another flower that compelled me to do this. For me inspiration is not something that I think you can force. That said this next flower did whisper something to me, ha, ha, ha!
Natural frame: this next picture I took in Santa Fe walking down Canyon Road back to the hotel and I think you can see how I was feeling about the place!
Emotion, bliss is sort of an emotion isn't it? So I thought, why not combine the two, emotion and bliss as emotion is something we can experience in what we see and feel each during a day. I therefore decided I would share an image I took that I think depicted just that:
and I will finish with some words to a prompt that Anika put up as inspiration at ACoLab, it was "something that frightens you" well to me it is not so much frighten (as you are in control of your mind), but something that I just would hate which would be:

Ironic that although it is not Mother's Day in the UK it is in the US....

First of all, although this is not Mother's Day in the UK, it is in the US, and my Mother loved the fact that she got 2 Mother's Day celebrations every year because my sister lives in NY and my Mother used to spend every year in Florida (during the winter) and spend time with her in both places, and of course in the UK with me! So whilst we celebrated Mother's Day in the UK earlier on this year, I know today is Mother's Day weekend in the US so happy Mother's Day to all great Mother's out there.  This is a picture of my Mum, which always makes me laugh.  It was at a marketing event for Guest House Ladies in the 1970's, she is on the left in blue!  If you want to see other fantastic Mothers, head on over to Lenscratch who have a great Mother's Day exhibition over there.
Now it is Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts, the first one being "straight out of the camera" All except one prompt are from extra shots that I took at the Beltane Spring Fire festival, the three below being straight out of the camera.
Next prompt is sprouting, well this guy was sprouting flowers from his head in celebration of spring.
Isn't it ironic eating fast food is also a fast way to make you overweight! No matter how good you find food, eating too much (like eating too little) ironically isn't good for you.  That is the next word prompt
Think I am being lazy as I am using lazy fast food for a lazy prompt and using the same image series again is also being lazy (ha, ha, ha)!
Smells like spring!  (I did say I was being lazy), fast food in spring....
or plum blossom?
you decide!
Ironic, last picture, SOOC, sprouting, smells like spring, me being lazy leaving it to last, ironic really!
This week the prompts at Scavenger Hunt were SOOC, Sprouting, Isn't it Ironic, Lazy and Smells like spring.

    Happy Easter and Scavenger Hunting...

Happy Easter everyone and I am off to race rolling some eggs like I used to as a child down a hill and eat chocolate with my loved ones and be thankful for being able to do that. Painting eggs and then watching them race each other as they roll down a hill and smash is something that I now love to do with Dexter, and it is something he really looks forward to, especially as Marvin and Carly like to chase after them too! Funnily enough, I saw some Easter Bunnies yesterday (very old women on a hen-night wearing Playboy bunny ears and smoking) but we were in the car and I wouldn't have been able to catch them which is a shame!  I think that would have been a great image to capture, but is one you will just have to imagine.  In compensation, here are my images for Scavenger Hunt.....

    .

This weeks prompts over at Scavenger Hunt Sunday are Reflections; Guess what this is; What's inside; Playtime and Lawn/Garden. My images which are given in no particular order so you can try to think which comes with which word prompt I think it makes it more interesting :-)

    Scavenger Hunt Sunday prompts.....

This week I have been playing about with two lenses, one being another type of old cine camera lens, one of the results being a vignette which it produces by itself (not via photoshop).

    "Motion"

    "Waiting to Click"

    "In Fashion"

    "Animal's Perspective"

    "Many"

If you missed me last week it is because I submitted my Scavenger Hunt entry on Tuesday because we had Mother's Day over in the UK.

Prompts provided by Scavenger Hunt Sunday were Motion, Waiting to Click, In Fashion, Animal's Perspective and Many.

Me time with Scavenger Hunt word prompts!

"Me" time,  that's something that I manage to snatch a lot of and I capture it with every photograph I take as in effect it is an instant for me when I can be lost in enjoying that very moment which can then be enjoyed as a tangible visual memory over and over again. With a camera always on me, "me" time is never unobtainable!

      The Faerie Market

This photograph I took on Friday as Dexter, Anders and I took Marvin and Carly for a walk. The light was just so magical in this spot at this particular moment I had to pull out my camera to capture it. It reminded me of a place where you might find Peter Pan and The Lost Boys in Neverland in that brief moment! This is exactly what the light looked like, what you see here is exactly what I saw (no photoshop), and by extension, so did my camera and this is what I mean by being able to always find "me" time.

So on with the Scavenger list which consists this week of: "me" time; Groups of 3; Decay; Kitchen and things that make you go hmmm!  So lets move to groups of 3......

      What's the time Big Bird?

      What's the time Big Bird?

Big Bird say's "it's boo time"!
Were you scared?  I thought Andrew made the mask come to life!

So that's my group of 3 above, what's next on the Scavenger Hunt list, Decay, (e.g.old/abandoned)

This is my stepfather who is in hospital. He is 86 and has a catalogue of illnesses including vascular dementia and heart failure and his body is definitely in a state of decay which I dare say happens when you have all the things wrong with him and have lived a full life. He has been in hospital for the last 3 weeks, and whilst he has been gravely ill, this is a moment I captured which makes me happy as in that split moment, I saw his joy and love of me and in my being with him.

I took the image before he took a turn for the worse and as you can see he was happy to see me and that is something that for me is really special to have captured.  It was nice to see him happy and share with him my interest in photography (not that I think he totally understood, but he was happy that's for sure). It was nice to show him my Rolleiflex and capture the joy he had at being in my company which is something that I will cherish. Although this may appear a sad picture, it is actually a happy one as he was definitely improving here as thankfully I got him into hospital in the nick of time.

      Kitchen

      never complete without yummy food....

Life should be full of things (even if they are little and brief) that accumulatively make you feel like it has been a blast,

      hmmmm!
