Siamese Twins - Brother & Sister........

Marvin & Carly, conjoined twins!!!!
Well they do love each other........
This was taken as I had a coffee early this morning outside with Anders as it was sunny and I woke up feeling particularly chipper! In my head I was hearing "good mornin' good mornin'" and still can't get that tune out of my head! Click the below link if you too would like to hear it!!!
Marvin & Carly were sitting very closely, so much so that I thought "gosh they could almost be joined", and photographs of course don't lie!!!
Well, it is Friday, the start of a bank holiday weekend here in the UK. What's planned........ find out next week!!!

Our cat as seen through my eyes....

This is our cat Wee Girl, she is very lovely and 19 years old.....

Alien convention at Portobello Beach

My son Dexter (who is only 8) took this photo on the iPhone, and both Anders & I think it is fantastic. We have it blown up and framed.

Seems simple enough.......

Surprisingly enough, I don't actually crave sweet things...... that said, Anders asked "do you fancy sharing half a Reese's with me"? Mmmmm (both contemplating and thinking yum yum) quickly answered by "oh, ok then" - even the name makes you smile!
By sharing it turned out to be 2 cups for him and 1 cup for me!

Followed by the following explanation as to why he got 2 and I only got 1..........

......... seems simple enough?!!!!

Trinkets & Baubles in the garden!

Well that is one way of looking at them anyway! When we built our extension a few years ago and did up the garden, we decided to add some objects of interest into it. This stone Chinese Lion sits outside our back door.

We saw this rickshaw too and it was "on sale", not that that was a surprise as can't see it being the first thing people would rush to buy, but we did as we had a place for it!
It is a fantastically bright colour and sits under our Ash tree. The area around it we thought needed something of interest put in it!
It is a great cobalt blue colour.
And here are our two Gnomes, Napoleon & Attila, wonder if they are plotting battles in the garden at night (and they look so innocent but their names say something else!)......

What's your craving.... something a little bit spicy

Black Turtle Bean, Split Pea, Lentil & Barley Soup
w
Beef Ravioli

Ingredients: You will need Black Turtle Beans; (dried soup mix - split peas, lentils & barley); olive oil; 2 cloves of garlic; stock (I used beef & lamb stock); red wine (optional but goes well with the beef ravioli I think) and chilli, sea salt, black pepper and celery seeds (to your own taste).

The beef ravioli can of course be substituted for a different filling, and you can either buy these in or if you have the time make them yourself as they are easy to make but today I used ones I had bought in the supermarket and they were yummy!

To make this I would recommend you soak the dried pulses overnight - I did!

Cooking instructions: Place all of the beans and pulses into a pan with the olive oil and stock. Stock used should be enough to submerge to pulses and then half again (hope that makes sense?)
Bring to the boil and then simmer for around 20 minutes. Whilst simmering, add the garlic and seasoning.

You can of course have more liquid stock if you wish, but as we were having them with the ravioli, I wanted it to have a little bit of soup (almost consomme like thickness) to set off the ravioli.

About 10 minutes into the simmering time, boil another pan of water and once boiling, plonk in the ravioli which is ready when it floats.

Serve soup with ravioli placed in the middle. Drizzle with some more olive oil and add a sprig of flat leaf parsley or coriander to set it off.

except Yum Yum, and a thank you from Dexter & Anders for a nice dinner.

It's Friday - and this one is for you....

Nothing funny about this, it is pure genius.

Look up this link to you tube, it is of an amazing accordion player in the US, and then see his other stuff - Kombrig1941

I for some time have had a strong pull towards learning to play the accordion, and have now started. Those of you who know me might think "you, playing the accordion!", well yes sirree, I am in love with this instrument..... Turns out much to my surprise, that it is in the genes! My real father apparently played it (queue Twilight music!!!!).....

If you go down to the woods today....

Well, it was Sunday actually and we did .........
Instead of the 3 bears, you would have seen Dexter, Marvin & Carly, (and Anders & I of course). It was so beautiful, we are going to go back again very soon.

Come on in Carly, the water really is warm!!!

Marvin tries to get Carly to cross the stream .....

"Come on in Carly, the water really was lovely" Marvin shouted across the stream......

"But I'm a Lady" Carly shouted whilst trying to find a spot where she didn't have to get her feet too wet to cross over.......

"I know, I have been in already" said the Spaniel "I'll come over as you look rather handsome"

"Yes indeed I am, and you smell rather lovely too young lady".......

Well 2 can play at that game Marvin, Carly thought to herself as she crossed the stream by taking the dry bridge route shouting "Catch me, Catch me" to a Border Collie, just to prove a point that she too was rather lovely......

Swimming in Edinburgh in April outdoors......

The temperature of the water was amazing, and Anders, Dexter and I enjoyed a great afternoon swimming outdoors in April and in Scotland. Hope this pool temperature stays this way as it was heaven.......

A Classic Camper from 1966.......

What Classic Camping Beauty is this from 1966?
Although I have done one post for Heavy Metal which is very different to this one, given I have spent the whole of this past weekend in it, and the Heavy Metal topic ended up making me feel really happy, (as did camping this weekend), I had to put this one in because she is one lovely hunk of metal from a very good year!!! She also combined the picnic topic, and I suppose you could include her in multilayer as she can't help but get under your skin and although I did do another thing for all three of the other days topics well hey, she has bits of ivory (well beige grey and ceiling wax red to be exact) so please forgive me for submitting two Heavy Metals today.

It is rust free, has the original wooden interior, full leather upholstery, kitchen and larder, Matching curtains & pillows, original (but new) engine and is just such a beauty?

I like to think of it as a posh picnic hamper!!!

HAVE YOU GUESSED YET?

Yes indeed, it is a Classic 1966 VW Splitscreen Camper,

Sundial Model and isn't she a lovely Splitty?!

& as I have been away camping in her all weekend this is rather apt!
