A few things that made me happy, laugh and smile over the last few days.

Firstly, Dexter's art always makes me smile and swell up with pride!
Let's kick this off with his home made badge which I think is fantastic and he carried it off so well.
FRAGILE DO NOT DROP
Seriously I am a piece of art and I am, Fragile Do Not Drop!
I completely agree and love how he thought of it.
Chimney Sweep by Dexter, Aged 9
I love the pastel colours he used and the geometric style of the shapes.  Guess what, I think he is great!
Smoking like a chimney
Dexter saw me take this wonder if it inspired the above picture?
Need to ask him as I only found the drawing he did this morning when he asked me to take it out of his bag before we rushed out to go to school!
Alice through an i-phone
Pictures 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 are from my i-phone, the rest are using my Olympus Pen.

Lightening by Dexter, aged 9.
Just asked Dexter what this was of and he said Lightening.  As soon as he said, I could absolutely see it.  He is such a clever boy!

  7. Dexter's drawing is actually even nicer in person as the colours pop and the clouds are grey charcoal so are even nicer. I am going to get it framed. I keep his best work in an art portfolio and have done since he was a baby.

The Alice shot was taken at the Modern Art Gallery in Edinburgh where I took Dexter and his pal Joseph on Saturday afternoon. They went equipped with drawing pad and pencil as I thought it would be a different thing for him to do with a friend. Then after that we came home to eat and watch Austin Powers, the boys choice of film. It was a good day.

  8. You must be having a great parenting journey with such a talented boy! But looking at your art, I suspect we know where that talent comes from.

Now I need to google Olympus pen!

  9. Caution Flag, I am so touched by what you have said, thank you so much. I love everything about Dexter, and both my husband and I see that he has huge creative talents, way more than either Anders or I and we are both having such a great time exploring it with Dexter. Sometimes I think it is Dexter teaching us with regards to art as he encourages us to think in different ways.
