Sometimes......

Everyone is perfect to someone, sometimes
Everyone is perfect at something, sometimes
Sometimes, isn't always and it isn't never
Isn't that clever
Otherwise perfect wouldn't be extra special or achievable, sometimes!

So reach for the stars
The moon also has charms
Don't limit your dreams
Propel them like beams
And some might just twinkle and shine
Feel really divine
Sometimes!

By me - aspiring perfectionist, sometimes!!!

  1. I just joined in on Brene's Perfect Protest. (Just found her blog last night, so I wasn't able to snap a picture). Once I hit a 30-something, I began to feel this way.
I have learned there is a sense of peace that comes with accepting little imperfections. :D
    Have a great weekend!!

  2. Kelly, thanks for your note. I am in my 40's and see perfection differently, something extra extra special that does happen, sometimes and that is why it is something to savour when it happens, not necessarily want in everything or everyday as then it would not be that nirvana.

  3. Thinking further about your note Kelly I do see perfection differently, something extra extra special that does happen, sometimes - not often and not never and that is why it is something to savour when it happens. It is not necessarily something you should want in everything or everyday as then it would not be that nirvana, that really special moment or event that is one to be cherished, like the first flower that your child picks for you, or the first kiss (which isn't necessarily the first kiss you have) that is all over fall in love perfect, or the day you find out you get the job you wanted, etc, etc. I think it is great that people are happy being in their own skin, warts and all which will be seen differently by everyone at all times, there is no one ideal for nirvana after all.

  4. I spent the day feeling quite the opposite of perfect - I in fact felt quite the opposite. I think I needed your reminder.

  5. Jamie, I genuinely think you are such a genuinely lovely person, and you know, I don't know of anyone who feels perfect all of the time. When I think about it, I don't ever think I have experienced feeling I was perfect (I was a girl who wore a Milwaulkee brace after all), but I have felt times of absolute bliss, nirvana which to me is feeling perfect, being lucky enough to be part of something sometimes that feels just right and surely reaching perfection is not all about feeling it all on your own otherwise it would be such a lonely experience.

I wish I could give you a big hug and kiss right now and listen to some of the music that makes you feel really happy and help you see that you that what has happened is in the past, you can change how you feel now (you control how you feel, in the same way you control how you let other's make you feel). Fun and kindness aren't necessarily big statements so enjoy a little present to yourself by doing something you love (it can be as simple as enjoying a beautiful sky with a hot cup of coffee, listening to tunes, taking a deep sigh and putting your past behind you as that is where it is, behind you. Now is now and tomorrow is just that where nothing will be the same as the past unless it is Groundhog Day!
