Flash Mob Dance in Barcelona

As I turned the corner of a small Barcelona street in the old town, I could feel a heat so warm and inviting, and then I looked and it was an oven cooking charcoal chicken to people in the street.  The smell was divine, and so was the warmth the heat gave off.   I so love Barcelona,  every inch of the place has a photograph to be captured and every corner has a different marvel to find.  That made me very happy.

Just after this shot was taken, I stumbled upon this flash mob doing a traditional Catalan dance called the Sardana which was banned under Franco who hated it.  It is now a powerful symbol of Catalan Unity and I when I first stumbled upon it going on all I could think was "what the hell is going on, this is fantastic".  Whilst anyone can technically join in, it is very complicated and one single uncoordinated tourist can spoil it for everyone so it is just best to enjoy the spectacle which is exactly what I did.  Enjoy.

If you would like to see what makes some others happy in our family, look at the other posts I have put up today, one of them might also make you happy too if you like discount designer furniture!
